May be a stupid question in this forum. Why dont they make a cheap /average camcorder with a better frame rate instead of the usual 25-30 frames/s. We do a lot of sport video and 30 frames does not show much slow motion detail?

Kindly explain the optical zoom and digital zoom in this camcorder. I have DCR SR 47 which has 60 x optical zoom and digital zoom 2000x. I can record from a distance of 50-60 ft. and the quality is very good because of 60x zoom.

Now let me know whether reduced optical zoom i.e. 12 x will bring the same quality as above. Whether 12x is for close video recording or both. Does digital zoom 150 x will come into play. Kindly explain me in detail. I wish to upgrade my camcorder in the near future.

Regards,
